NALSC functions as an Area Office for Legal Aid Ontario (LAO), for the community members of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation territory.

NALSC issues legal aid certificates to NAN community members who are financially eligible AND their legal matter is covered by LAO. NALSC abides by the LAO guidelines in determining the financial eligibility of a person applying for legal aid. The chart below provides a guideline for the income eligibility levels to qualify for a legal aid certificate.
